During our recent visit to Dubai, we were eager to spend some time at one of the numerous water parks to enjoy the spring sunshine. With children aged five, eight, and ten, we sought the most suitable water park for younger visitors and ultimately chose to explore Legoland Water Park Dubai.
Overview of Legoland Water Park Dubai
Legoland Water Park is located adjacent to the main Legoland Park, although it requires a separate entrance ticket. It is part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts complex and is specifically designed for children under the age of 12, making it an ideal choice for our family.
We visited the park on a mid-week day prior to the main Easter school holidays, and to our delight, it was remarkably quiet.
Build-A-Raft River
We began our adventure at the Build-A-Raft River, a leisurely waterway that meanders around the perimeter of the park.
We thoroughly enjoyed this experience, as we could choose between single or double rings for a ride lasting approximately ten minutes.
The rings featured sections where we could attach large floating LEGO bricks, which my youngest found particularly entertaining.
One side of the double ring was elevated, allowing my five-year-old to sit on top while I navigated our course.
All of us participated in the Build-A-Raft River and found it to be fantastic. The ride was gentle, making it a perfect way to cool off.
Red Rush Slide
Next, we made our way to the Red Rush slide, which initially appeared intimidating. We observed large rings designed for six people being hoisted to the top.
After climbing the steps, we settled into the large ring, gripping the handles on the sides, and then zoomed down the slide.
While it offered an exhilarating experience, it also felt secure enough that, after our initial trial, we decided to take our typically apprehensive five-year-old on it, and he genuinely enjoyed the ride.
Additional Water Slides at Legoland Water Park Dubai
Adjacent to the Red Rush, there are three more water slides designed to boost children’s confidence through exhilarating experiences, while ensuring that none are overly intimidating.

One of the reasons I believe Legoland Water Park is the premier water park in Dubai for younger children is its compact size. There are numerous activities available, all within a relatively small area, allowing for a sense of freedom as children explore.
While we kept a close watch on our kids, there were plenty of lifeguards diligently monitoring the area, contributing to a reassuringly safe environment.
Wave Pool
After enjoying several rides, we made our way to the expansive wave pool located at the park’s end.
This delightful pool captivated the children, who could have easily spent hours there if time permitted. We stayed for at least an hour, during which they joyfully splashed around, eagerly awaiting the activation of the waves every few minutes.
Equipped with soft life jackets for non-swimmers, it was an ideal setting for them to play while we relaxed on sun loungers, observing their enjoyment.
Additionally, there were several engaging water sprays for everyone to enjoy, but our children were just as content playing in the refreshing water.
Larger Slides – Review of Legoland Water Park Dubai
Behind the wave pool, a variety of larger water slides awaited. Some required riders to use mats, while others allowed for ring seating, all subject to height restrictions.
These slides provided immense fun and brought back memories of the countless hours I spent at water parks in Portugal during my youth.
As with all attractions, shaded areas were available for queuing, which was particularly beneficial during the peak midday sun.
Adventure Playground
In addition to the main wave pool, there was an impressive adventure playground, the Joker Soaker. This had areas to climb up whilst all the while water was spraying.
Every now and then the large bucket at the top would fill up with water and tip over everyone.
